Create a Sudo Users

Steps to make a normal users as a sudo users.

Step 1:

Login as a root user in ‘Terminal’.

Step 2:

Type the command

$ sudo adduser username admin and then press enter

Step 3:

Now continue using your computer.If you want to install any package then mention sudo in front of the command and go ahead with steps.

Create a RAR file in linux

Here are the steps to create a rar file in linux.

Step 1:

Install a rar package by the following command

$ sudo apt-get install rar

Step 2:

After that just typed the command to create a rar archive of a file or directory

$ sudo rar a filename.rar input

Note

filename.rar is the output file.

input is nothing but a directory.

Stopping an another web server deamon in XAMPP

I have been facing a problem with my Xampp Server all time.When ever i start my xampp server, it shows up “Another web server deamon is already running”.

I have been tried uninstalling and reinstalling back , it still shows up with the same message.

So, i have gone back to googling to find a solution for this stop the another web server deamon.

After long time , i have landed up with a solution.

You try stopping that server by a command.

$ sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 stop

Now i have started the Xampp Server.It works pretty fine and good.

Find a name of the package in ubuntu

I have been trying to find a package name in ubuntu.Thats makes it keep on hitting my mind.Atlast i have landed up with a solution by googling.

Here is the command that you can try with name of the package you know and it will tell you the exact package name.

sudo apt-cache search package-name;

For example, i want to install java sdk in Ubuntu, but i do not know the exatly package name to install, i can issue following command to search “java sdk”.

sudo apt-cache search java sdk

After executing the above command you will get the exact name of the package like

sudo apt-get install sun-java6-sdk

Installing Adobe Flex builder in Linux

After a mess up commands,i have got a solution from my friend who fix the Adobe Flex Builder in Linux(Much more easier way).

Step 1:
Download Eclipse3.3.

Step 2:

Download AdobeFlexBuilder.

Step 3:

Create a new directory in /home/username/name of the directory.

Step 4:

Copy both the downloaded file to that directory.

Step 5:

Open up the ‘Terminal’.

Type the command to extract your eclipse.

$ sudo tar xf eclipse-java-europa-winter-linux-gtk.tar.gz

then start the Flex builder installer.

$ sh flexbuilder_linux_install_a4_081408.bin

Locate where you want to install the Flexbuilder and choose where you have your eclipse extracted.

Thats it..

It will be up and running…
