Auto Start the Xampp in linux


Here are the steps to make the xampp auto start in linux.

Step 1:

Open the ‘Terminal’ and Login as a root user.

Step 2:

Now type the command

$sudo gedit /etc/rc.local

it will open the file in a editor and add the following lines in the last line of the file.

/opt/lampp/lampp start

  2. this works for me fine, but i use more precise autostart of apache and mysql in xampp:
    /opt/lampp/lampp startapache
    /opt/lampp/lampp startmysql

    thx

    Ubuntu lucid 10.04.4 LTS
