Installing Buddypress plugin in WordPressMU


Pre-requisite:

1.WordpressMU

2.BuddyPress

3.WAMP or XAMPP Server to be installed.

Here is the steps to install BuddyPress in WordPressMu

Step 1:
Download the BuddyPress Plugin.

Step 2:
Unzip the downloaded plugin to the WordPressMU plugin directory.

If the Server,your using is XAMPP then,

C:\Xampp\htdocs\(name of the WordPressMU directory)\wp-content\plugins

Copy the unzip buddypress plugin in to the plugins directory

Step 3:
Start the Xampp Server.

To check the xampp Server is Running.

Open the browser and hit the Url.

http:\\localhost

You should see the Xampp Server Configuration Page.

Step 4:
Now open the buddpress plugin directory(C:\Xampp\htdocs\(name of the WordPressMU directory)\wp-content\plugins)

Inside the buddypress directory you have bp-themes directory.

There you will have two directories like ‘bpsn-parent’ and bp-deafult’.

Move those two directories to C:\Xampp\htdocs\(name of the WordPressMU directory)\wp-content\themes.

Step 5:
Now,open the browser hit the url like

http:\\localhost\(name of the wordpressMU directory that has been copied to the htdocs folder in xampp)\wp-admin

It will prompt you for the WordPressMU Login.

Enter your Username and Password and then click on ‘Submit’.

You will see your Dashboard.

Step 6:
In the Left hand side of your Dashboard you will see ‘Plugins’ below that you will have installed click on ‘Installed’.

Before that you have to enable the plugins in ‘Site Admin’ options tab in the left hand side.

In that bottom of the screen, you have to make sure the plugin check box is enabled and click on Submit.

Step 7:
Now in the ‘Plugins’ below that ‘Installed’ Tab you will see the ‘BuddyPress’ Plugin available over there.

Activate the Plugin by Click on ‘Activate’ below the name of the Plugin.

Step 8:
Now you will see the BuddyPress tab on the left hand side of your Dashboard.

You can see some extra widgets thats has been added after the Buddypress Plugin is activated.

Everything is set with WordPressMU and BuddyPress.

    Thanks for your Comments. Buddypress Plugin is for enabling the social networking features out of the box for your wordpress. Buddypress holds the features like members, groups, forums and wall stream.
